VAGINAL TIGHTENING (Vaginoplasty) The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made inside the vagina to excise excess vaginal tissue and tighten the underlying muscles. This incision is not visible from the outside. A smaller incision similar to a very small episiotomy is made on the outside to narrow the vaginal opening. All the sutures dissolve within two to four weeks. The patient can go home the same day and is able to return to work in one week. The surgery can be done at St. Joseph’s Health Centre or at a private clinic that specializes in cosmetic surgery. The procedure can be combined with labial reduction or other cosmetic surgeries if desired. Dr. Levine works closely with a gynecologist in his office, Dr. Sybil Judah, who specializes in this procedure. Dr. Judah will meet personally with the patient for a full in-depth consultation. The procedure and possible complications will be discussed. Dr. Judah will ensure that the patient is a good candidate for the procedure and outline the result that can be expected. Since each patient is unique, the surgery is customized to achieve the best result. If you would like to discuss vaginal tightening with Dr. Judah, you can arrange a personal consultation with her through Dr. Levine's office. jump to:
